My Every Day Products for Trigeminal Nueralgia
I use these products every day to either help manage my Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) pain and symptoms, as well as distract me from them. From cooling my face to tracking my pain, these products are my essentials to managing my TN and helping to keep a healthy mindset.
Cooling Patches
I take these patches everywhere! They are light, fit in bags, and work! Keep them in the fridge for an extra boost. I like these better than heavy ice packs.
Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender not only smells wonderful, it helps with anxiety and nausea. Use in an essential oil necklace to keep the scent closer or add to a diffuser.
Yeti 26oz Tumbler
My mouth and face are frequently on fire and cold drinks help cool me down. I keep ginger ale, seltzer water, or my shakes. Easy to use at home and when out.
Apple Airpods Pro 2
Music helps to calm me down, audio books are great when your eye(s) won’t stay open from pain. When I’m out, they cancel out the noise. Excellent for flying!
Everyday Tote Bag
With all the things I carry around with me, I need a nice, compact bag to carry it all. This bag comes with me up and down the stairs, and when I go out.
Daily Planner/Notebook
This planner allows you to write in your pain/symptoms for each hour. I use for TN tracking, writing in Dr’s appointments and notes. A very helpful tool!
Essential Oil Necklace
Add a drop or two to the reusable pads to keep the scent close. I wear these with lavender essential oil when I’m out, am having a bad day, or when flying.

The absolute best water bottle! You can sip with the bottle upright or drink from the straw. I find this bottle easy to drink from without causing pain.

My iPad keeps me sane! I can watch, listen, draw, write, edit photos and videos, play games, and much more! The 11” iPad is perfect for carrying around.
Mini Fridge
I keep my mini fridge upstairs, in the hallway outside my bedroom. It’s been great to have my cooling patches and ginger ale so close to me.
Portable Fan
I get hot and sweaty with pain flares. This fan has been helpful to help cool me down. Use on your non-pain side or back of neck. Bonus: it charges your phone!
Lavender Aromatherapy
Peel and stick these patches to your clothes or body to help calm anxiety and nausea. I especially love these patches after waking up from anesthesia.
Corkcicle 16oz Mug
Keeps my lavender or mint tea hot for hours. The lid is easy to drink from and doesn’t cause me pain to use. The no-slip bottom keeps your drink safe from spills.
Apple Pencil (2nd Gen)
A must have for my iPad. I love to draw (I have a BFA in Fine Arts) and this pencil makes it so easy to take my mind off my pain and focus on creating.
Throw Up Bags
I am always nauseous and when pain flares, it gets worse. I keep these bags everywhere just in case. Small enough to fit in bags, vehicles, and more!
Portable, Reusable Straw
Drinking straight from a glass tends to cause me pain and straws make it so much easier. Put these in your bag or pocket to make going out easier.
Kindle Paperwhite
Reading helps distract me from the pain. I like to escape to a world that isn’t my reality. The Kindle holds lots of books and is easy to take anywhere.
Apple Watch
My Apple watch works great for tracking my daily movements, like exercise, standing, and heart rate. I know when my system and stress are overloaded.
Managing Trigeminal Nueralgia
Managing Trigeminal Neuralgia can be very difficult. From ice to heat and which supplements to take. These products come recommended from others with TN.
Face Ice/Heat Pack
Gentle and lightweight, this wrap can be used with cold or heat. Put the gel packs in the freezer for cold or microwave for heat.
Lion’s Mane Extract
Lion’s Main extract helps to boost nervous system help.There is a strong alcohol taste that burns my tongue. I mix this into my daily shakes.

Organic Flaxseed Oil
Pure, organic, and unrefined flaxseed oil helps to reduce inflammation and is also great for your heart, skin, and eyes. I mix this into my daily shakes

LED right light therapy face masks can help reduce inflammation and help to promote nerve regeneration. As a bonus, your face may have less wrinkles too!
Vitamin B12
Taking a daily B12 vitamin may help with your overall nerve health and maintain the myelin sheath. As a bonus, it is great for your heart and helps support good sleep.
Face Heating Pad
Help manage your pain with a facial heating pad. Wrap the pad around your face and select a setting that best suits your pain levels.
Vitamin C
My vitamin C levels are typically down in my bloodwork. Maybe from medications or the lack being able to go outside often. I take this twice a day to help.
Sleeping and Lounging
When you have Trigeminal Neuralgia, getting comfortable is difficult. These products help as you sleep and lounge to alleviate pain and anxiety.
Cervical Neck Pillow
This neck pillow provides all of the curves, divots and angles needed to help to relieve pressure. This was a game changer for me when sleeping.
Leg Wedge Pillow
When you find your legs or feet swelling, or just want to be more comfortable, this pillow is for you. It is comfortable to lounge with and helps relax your body.
Comfy Fleece Blanket
When you don’t feel well, a comfy fleece blanket helps you relax and nap. Ultra soft and cozy, a good blanket can sometimes be magical.
Weighted Stuffy
Snuggling a stuffed animal helped us in childhood and now. Add in the comfy 5lb weight and you now have an excellent sleeping buddy and can lower anxiety.
Grooming
Taking care of your everyday grooming needs can be difficult with Trigeminal Neuralgia. Some days you can’t shower, can’t brush or comb your hair, or brush your teeth. I’ve found these products to help make grooming chores a bit easier.
No Pull Hairbrush
An amazing hairbrush that will untangle your hair without pulling or tugging. This has truly been a lifesaver for getting my hair brushed out without increasing pain.
Ultra Soft Toothbrush
A toothbrush designed for sensitive gums and teeth. Designed to put less pressure on your teeth and still have a good clean. Perfect for flare days.
Oily Skin Face Wash
I have dry, oily skin. Add the medicated face cream to the mix and it’s hard to get my face clean. This face wash removes the buildup and doesn’t hurt to use.
Sensodyne Toothpaste
When your teeth are sensitive and throbbing, using a toothpaste designed to help calm them down is essential. This is my favorite toothpaste and is effective.
Shower Chair
Showering is exhausting. When my pain is high, my shower chair is helpful to allow me to sit and get clean when I’m feeling dizzy and unsteady.
For When You Can’t Brush
Sometimes you simply can’t brush your teeth. On those days, mix half water and half peroxide and swish around to kill bacteria. Good to do for a few days.
Soft Electric Toothbrush
When I’m having a day my teeth aren’t throbbing too bad, I like to use this to ensure they are getting clean. The micro vibrations gently clean or polish.
Meals
Taking care of your everyday grooming needs can be difficult with Trigeminal Neuralgia. Some days you can’t shower, can’t brush or comb your hair, or brush your teeth. I’ve found these products to help make grooming chores a bit easier.
Nutritional Shakes
I drink these shakes daily. They taste great and are full of protein and other natural ingredients. My go-to when I can’t chew or am having a bad flare.
Versatile Blender
My blender gets used daily to make shakes. Use the cup to make one shake or use the pitcher to make several. Does a great job and makes a smooth shake.
Soft, Flexible Straws
I love these straws. They are big enough to easily drink shakes and beverages. The flexibility makes it easier to drink when you are laying down too.
Seasonal
Each season calls for different needs to protect yourself. From summer sun and winter cold winds, I’ve found these products helpful to keep my pain lower when I go out.
Wide Brimmed Hat
The sun is an instant trigger for me. When I got outside, my face needs to be protected. This packable, foldable, wide brimmed hat has worked great!
Instant Ice Packs
I keep these instant ice packs at the ready; in my bag and in the car. When I get a flare, I get really hot. These packs are nice for a quick cool down.
SPF Shirt with Face Cover
Protection from the sun and has the option to use the built-in face mask. This SPF hooded shirt is light and can cover your face from the wind. For Women
Lightweight Face Cover
On warm, windy days this face cover helps to protect from the sun and moderate winds. Having sun and wind hit my face causes pain, covering up helps.
Cooling Headbands
When it’s hot out my pain escalates quickly. To help keep me cool I use these cooling headbands. Add some cool water, shake it, and it’s like having an icepack!
Fleece Face Cover
Keeping your face protected against harsh, cold winds is essential for protecting your face in the winter. I love this soft fleece face wrap.
Cooling Towel
Add a little cool water, shake, and you have an instant cooling towel to wrap around your next. Helps you keep cool when it’s hot and pain is flaring.
Soft Shawl
A soft shawl is not only nice to keep your neck or shoulders warm, it’s a great way to also protect your face. Great for quick trips in the cold and comfy on the face.
Make Life Easier
Chronic pain, like Trigeminal Neuralgia, is exhausting and makes it difficult to complete daily chores. These products help around the house and makes life and pain just a little easier.
Essential Oil Diffuser
When pain flares or I need some help calming my system down, I add lavender essential oil to my diffuser. As the scent fills the room, I find my pain getting better.
Robot Vacuum
Having the energy to keep the floors clean is in hard supply, especially when you have pets. This a Roomba has worked so well in our house and self empties!
